Disaster - Humanitarian communication project

The disaster and humanitarian communication project is a technology program to allow both low and high speed communication to aid workers and organizations who are deployed in a field environment under stressful conditions.

In cooperation with several other organizations to include the Oceanos Foundation in Europe, we have started the program development of a global High Frequency (HF) and satellite backbone for disaster relief and humanitarian assistance. While still in the very early stages, the program is potentially a great benefit to the NGO and UN agencies who are deployed in a wide range of countries around the world.

The estimate cost of this network is in the range of 1-2 million Euros spread over a three-year period. Currently we are planning that network will be deployed without cost to the organizations who will use it thus allowing them to better utilize their operating budget. It will involve more than 120 countries by the time the project has been fully deployed in 10 years. Our initial focus will be on developing countries within the "Ring of Fire"
